WESTS SUBIACO RUGBY UNION CLUB - PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA ROUND FIFTEEN RESULTS

Round 15 saw 1sts, 2nds and 5ths playing Wanneroo at Kingsway, while 3rds and Under 20's played Joondalup at Iluka, whilst Under 18's had to forfeit due to School Holidays and the Women had a bye.

1st Grade took on a Wanneroo side that was in the four and having one of their best seasons ever. Wanneroo started well and by mid way through the first half led 12-0. Wests came back with a try to Matt O'Brien and kept Wanneroo close. The second half saw Wanneroo with their Force players in Matt Hodgson and Junior Pelasasa being the difference, put on three more tries while Wests could only score two, another to Matt OBrien and the other to our Force rep. Tai McIssac, who had a solid game. The final score Wanneroo 31 Wests 15, this being Wests biggest loss of the season.

2nd Grade also played Wanneroo with Wests looking to maintain their spot in the four. Whilst Wanneroo were no pushover Wests produced some very well constructed tries with running onto the ball at pace and were never in danger of losing. The final score was Wests 35 Wanneroo 14, with tries to Rod Fejo, Ben White, Hayden Head and John Paul Apulu who also kicked 3 conversions and 2 penalties, whilst Craig Barrett also kicked a penalty. Thanks to Paul & Richard for playing the 1st half before heading to Joondalup for 3rds. A good win keeps 2nds in third place on the ladder but a big one next game against Nedlands who are in fourth.

3rd Grade in 4th position on the ladder played Joondalup who were in 2nd. The final score was 7-7 and Wests points came from a try to Alby Jefferies and a conversion to Aaron Broughton. 3rds drop to 5th spot on the ladder, however they need a big performance against Nedlands next to jump back into the four.

5th Grade played Wanneroo and whilst in the early stages of the first half were under a lot of defensive pressure, they broke out and scored under the posts through Jason Leatherby-Hohaia and broke open the game when in the second half Jason scored again beside the posts, with Scotty Blakemore converting both tries. A good win and a big thankyou to those guys who backed up for 2nds, especially Cody who had a top game on the wing when he came on for 2nds.

Under 20's played Joondalup, and with a lot of injuries were going to struggle but held on and weren't disgraced going down 13 to 7.

Under 18's were due to play Cottesloe but due to School Holidays and Aranmore pupils being away on the Gold Coast, Wests had no option but to forfeit, however 18's are still in a well consolidated second place.

Women had a bye, but play this Saturday 19th at Perry Lakes at 12-25pm.
